Sound Stations (2002)

recorded vocal performance installation

Return to the Free Zone, group exhibition, University of Colorado at Boulder, CO. USA

For my installation piece, Sound Stations, I used multi track recordings to layer vocal performances. These recordings were played through headphones at separate desks with chairs and arranged in a loose circle in the center of the gallery space.

The themes of each recording ranged from silly to aggressive. They elaborated the notion of the human voice as a means to communicate emotions and senarios with out using a specific language or defined terms.
